Hi again! It's me, Jeanne aka weedjeannie. I was cleaning my inbox today and received the following e-mail alert. They sent this 5 days ago. I just copied and pasted this. The spelling errors it contains are there's. Think I hope others have gotten this e-mail from them as well. Thank's for listening!

Dear customer,

We’re aware that some of our players have been targeted in “phishing” attacks by imposters impersonating Cloudbet or a representative of Cloudbet in web forums or email. Phishing is an attempt to trick someone into clicking a link or file that releases malicious software, thereby compromising the security of his/her computer and data.

We are sending this email to alert our player community to beware of any similar attempts. Let us be clear: We will never send you any files nor links to any files, and we will never ask for your password. If you get any such requests by someone claiming to represent Cloudbet - in any web forum, email, or message service - do not comply: send the message to support@cloudbet.com instead so that we may investigate.

Sometimes these attacks can be very sophisticated and difficult to differentiate between authentic Cloudbet communication. The bottom line is that it pays to be sceptical of any files sent by email from anyone - even if they claim to represent Cloudbet.

More broadly, it’s good practice to treat with extra suspicion any attempts to lure you into opening files sent to you via email or message channels - even if the source is “trusted.”

Do not share your password with anyone. Furthermore, we strongly encourage all players to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) if you haven’t done so already - this is the most reliable way to secure your account from any attackers. You can do this by clicking on the “Settings” link in the “My account” menu.

If you have any further questions, please contact us at the above email.

Sincerely,

The Cloudbet team

Wow! Just got the following e-mail 3 minutes ago! Update to the above: OMG! This sounds very BAD!

Dear valued customer,

We would like to urgently warn players to beware of an email sent in the last few hours with the subject line “Important: You won 0.15 BTC,” offering you a bitcoin bonus from Cloudbet if you click on a link.

The email was sent by a SCAMMER pretending to be a representative of Cloudbet. It WAS NOT sent by us. DO NOT click on the link - it could possibly release malicious software that will compromise the security of your computer.

Please send the message to support@cloudbet.com so that we may investigate.

This attack targets players running Windows in particular: If you do so, and have clicked on the link, you are at very high risk of having your security compromised by malware.

Even if you run a different operating system, we suggest that you exercise caution all the same. If you suspect that you have downloaded malware, we strongly recommend that you take immediate precautionary measures to protect your files and your data.

These steps include (but are not limited to):

1. Immediately disconnect your computer from your local networks

2. From another computer: Change passwords and 2FA credentials to key applications

3. Make sure you have 2-factor authentication on all online services that you use

4. Back up key data on to an external drive

5. Wipe/Format your hard drive, reinstall your operating system

6. Make sure you have an anti-virus application installed on your operating system

7. Scan all documents on the USB drive with your anti-virus application before you copy them back on to the computer

Our team of expert engineers is investigating this attack and working to prevent this scammer from disrupting other customers. We have reported the incident to our internet service provider.

We regret any inconvenience caused to you. Please let us know if we can help further at support@cloudbet.com.

Regards - the Cloudbet team.

Thank you for this. I would suggest not clicking on these kinds of emails as they could be an issue. This email itself could be a phishing email. If you are concerned, rather go to Cloudbet and speak to support on Live Chat. There's kind of casinos can be pron to attack so do take precaution.
