I am writing this post in hopes to gather some insights from casino representatives but hearing simple people opinions are very welcome.

First, what is a proxy or a VPN (there are a few differences)? Both are tools to fake your IP (a VPN does more than that, and is much more secure). If you are interested to find out about all the nuances between them, go to this link. Both help you access Geo-locked services.

While most casinos prohibit the usage of a proxy or VPN, some are fine with it. But beware there are some (troublesome) casinos who goes to say "we found that you have used a VPN so your cash balance is confiscated" without explicitly subjecting this in their Terms of Services!

My opinion is that no casino should be concerned against the usage of a proxy or VPN. Yes, the player is faking his IP but is not faking his identity nor gaining any advantage over the games because of this. -- A player still has to provide his documents for the KYC (know your customer) procedure. If the player was ill intended towards the casinos when using a VPN, he would simply fall the KYC procedure and get no money (moreover likely forfeiting his deposit/s as well) because he can't claim to be Indonesian (because he used an Indonesian IP via VPN) when his nationality (which is shown on his National ID Card / Passport) is Bulgarian!

It is only done to bypass some national restrictions (for example if from Bulgaria you can't access Pinnacle Casino but Pinnacle accepts players from Bulgaria) or to access games from certain providers (for example if you live in USA, and sign up an account at FortuneJack Casino to play Microgaming or NETent slots and games). -- So I really do not understand why all the fuss from casinos on this subject?
