Hey Friends,

This time we have some news from Gambling Grumbles with a report about FortuneJack Casino which decided not to pay a player because it considers that the player did breached a rule mentioning that "two or more members of the same household cannot have accounts with the casino" (so only one account per household is permitted).

I think it all boils down to what the meaning of the word "household" can extent to. Although I agree with Steve that "household" generally means the house and all the goods which are property of the family owning the said house, using Google I get this definition: "a house and its occupants regarded as a unit" and I believe that the campus of a university (and all inhabitants of it) with all its dependencies, can all be considered part of a shared household.

I am certain that the casino saw the same IP (and / or MAC address of the computer used) and decided no to pay instantly because it considered this a breach of the said "no more than one player per household" term. Note that the player didn't denied that more people used the same computer/s to gamble online, on the contrary he confirmed that he been introduced by a few guys who played there previously as far as I understood.

Personally I believe this is the biggest mistake a student (or any other person) can do: start gamble online from public shared computers such as internet cafes, or using public wireless access such as from cafe-bars, malls etc. There are many who fall into this trap and the casinos are just waiting to slap them with their Terms & Conditions and confiscate their money because they did broke a term which either they didn't read or didn't read carefully enough, or wasn't clear enough.

What our player should do further ? Print and stick some flyers and spread the word in his campus that nobody should play online at any casino or poker room etc from the shared computers and neither using the free wireless provided by the university on their personal laptops ! That would save them some future potential troubles !

PS: As far as I can figure out, he (bowlerman) was the only one who won since the casino said there were seven other players using the same computer before him. Had any of the previous others (except maybe the 1st one) won anything and tried to withdraw, pretty sure that one would have got into the troubles which bowlerman got now.

Keep it Safe,
Constantin
